Part of our services to you includes the transfer and care of the deceased. When a person is transferred into our care they reside in our Chapels of Rest which are located at both our Rayleigh and Thorpe Bay offices.

We do not use off-site hubs or storage facilities.

Funeral Arrangements

Arranging A Funeral

Whether the funeral arrangements are to be for burial or cremation you can call us to arrange an appointment to discuss the forthcoming funeral. The arrangements can be made at our offices or we are happy to attend your home.

The funeral arranger will contact the minister or funeral officiant and will make the necessary arrangements at the crematorium, cemetery or church (as required). They will also ensure that all the required legal documentation is completed.

Registering A Death

Death Registration

If a death has occurred within England & Wales then it will need to be registered within 5 days of the event occurring unless the coroner is involved

If the death has been referred to the coroner, the death cannot be registered until the Coroner has completed their investigations.

The Coroner

The Coroner

In the case of a sudden, unexpected or industry related death, a Coroner is required to investigate the circumstances of death. It then becomes the Coroner’s responsibility to determine how and why an individual died.

If a deceased has been taken into the Coroner’s care, a date for the funeral cannot be made until the Coroner has completed their investigation.
