Well, it’s now 24hrs since we left RadissonBlu Glasgow after a very long, and we’d hope to say – very successful third event at the hotel.
Those of you who have been with the SCN since the outset will recall we first hosted an event at the hotel in October 2010. That event was our first ‘real’ event for the Scottish Creative Network, and while we’ve not done a lot of events – it proved to us, that we could do it.
October 2011 saw our return, and while it wasn’t planned until much closer to the time this year, 2012 marked year three.
We’ve changed this event slightly each year – we’re constantly learning as we go with these things, and we’re always open to suggestions – so please, feel free to drop us a line with your thoughts and we’ll see if we can make them happen.
Watch out for some images to come. We’ll ask all that took part to contribute some shots and get something up here in the next week or so.
We’ll be speaking to RadissonBlu Edinburgh shortly, with a view to hosting a similar event in the capital in February 2013. We’ll also have a chat with the Glasgow hotel again, and see if we can get a provisional date in the diary for our fourth event, in late 2013.
We’ve taken on board some suggestions and feedback again, and we’ll have a revised plan next year. It’s great seeing how these events have evolved over the few years we’ve been doing them.
Don’t think we’re sticking to RadissonBlu though. 2013 will be more active for events for SCN, and we’re already looking for different locations to use throughout the year.
We have to say a massive thank you to everyone for taking part this year, to all the hard-working teams of creatives that came together and created some truly great images – and worked so hard all day. But the biggest thanks from me has to go to my tireless team of hosts who made everything run on time, and so well. Kenneth, Richard, Emma – hats off to you. Give them a clipboard and a walkie-talkie – and they are unstoppable. And to Hamish, our roving behind-the-scenes reporter too… well done that man, and thanks for stepping up to the challenge.
Between us, we clocked up over 45 MILES walking around the hotel on Sunday. That’s dedication to the cause.
And that’s what the Network is all about.
Roll on next time…
