Trial Tayside Meeting – Good Show!

Posted on November 13, 2013

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank David Traynor for going out on a limb and organising the first SCN Networking Night in Dundee, which was last night (12th Nov ’13), in the Trades House Bar on Nethergate.

We’ve often been asked why we don’t do meetings further afield from Edinburgh and Glasgow, and when asked, we always have the same answer.  “If you’re keen to have a networking night in your area, are you prepared to organise it?”.  Normally, the response we get is silence.  It takes a lot of time and effort to organise these things, and few outside the SCN Admin team are prepared to take that on.  So we’re really pleased that David stepped up to the mark, and gave his own time and effort (and cakes) to give it a shot.

It was certainly a worthwhile event, with a good local crowd and there was lots of lively banter.  Quite a while since we’ve seen panels of prints being passed about and discussed, so that was good to see.   Thanks to all that took the time to attend, it seemed to go down very well, so we’re hopeful that it will be the first of many starting in 2014.

So again, our thanks to David for taking the time and effort to promote the event, and hope he’ll have just as much success with the nights he’s already planning for 2014 – including Perth as well as Dundee.
