About the SCN
The Scottish Creative Network is a networking group for photographers, models, makeup artists and visual creatives in Scotland.
The prime aim of the Scottish Creative Network is to connect creative people who work in photographic imagery across Scotland. The Network aims to connect complete beginners or hobbyists as well as professionals working full-time in the industry.
The Scottish Creative Network started with monthly meetings held in Glasgow, aimed at connecting the local photographic community. Through online social networks (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and other platforms (including existing UK-wide or worldwide photo-networking sites) – we have been forming connections across Scotland. Social media is key to getting the word out to the community across Scotland.
Our Glasgow meetings have been run since September 2009, and in February 2011 we hosted our first meeting in Edinburgh. Now, we run one meeting in each city all through the year (except December).
Our Edinburgh meetings are held at Circus Cafe and Bistro in the Old Town, normally on the first Thursday of each month.
Our Glasgow meetings are held in Bar Square in the Merchant City, and are normally on the third Wednesday of each month.
Please bear in mind however, that occasionally we have to change those dates depending on venue availability. Check the Events page to make sure you get the correct dates.
All our networking nights are free, you can come along yourself, bring some friends and just have a chat with likeminded people. Talk shop, arrange shoots or just have a chat.
We do run occasional paid events – these are often shoot days held in various venues in central Scotland. We’ve held days in top hotels, and more unusual places. We’ll also be looking at other options for networking and creating throughout 2014.
So, stick around!
